An Art Deco Sapphire, Synthetic Sapphire, Diamond and Platinum Ring, circa 1925
Centering an emerald-cut sapphire weighing approximately 1.25 carats, framed by round diamonds weighing approximately 1.30 carats, amid scalloped calibré-cut lab-grown sapphire trim, the shoulders further accented by round diamonds, in platinum, size 7 3/4
Condition

Weight: 5.7 grams
Ring top measuring 15 x 17 mm
Sapphire, of a dark tone of blue colour, good clarity (abraded)
Diamonds G-H colour, VS clarity
At the time that this ring was made, it was conventional for designers and jewellers to use the newly available synthetic (lab-grown) sapphires, for consistent colour and matching purposes
Good overall condition with signs of moderate wear, with abrasions on the centre sapphire, a tiny sapphire missing and another chipped
